The Irish History Students’ Association (Comhaltas na gCumann Staire) has launched a new podcast, to provide an informal platform for students of history to network with the wider academic community. The focus of each episode will be to disseminate new student research, which could take the form of a one-to-one conversation with an experienced scholar in your field, or a panel discussion bringing together students examining a similar research topic.
Students and early-career researchers in Ireland studying any historical theme or period, along with those researching Irish history abroad, are invited to submit a proposal to ihsapodcast@gmail.com. The proposal should include a short biography (max 3 lines), an outline of your research (c.100 words) and a plan for your podcast episode. The plan should include the proposed topic for discussion and a list of preliminary participants. Podcast episodes will be recorded virtually.
The deadline for the first round of proposals is 12 May 2022.
The podcast will also include special episodes featuring announcements about conference call for papers, new releases of archival material, tips and tricks from experienced scholars on funding and job applications and a variety of other informative sessions. More details on these special episodes to come.
